Into September now.  The beauty of the newly changing leaves, and this past year, the nice warm weather!  This couple originally had this date as their wedding date, but due to unforeseen circumstances, had to postpone it until June of this year.  They weren’t going to do an engagement session, but decided to use their date since it was booked for them anyways, and enjoy being together and creating these gorgeous memories.

Love their love, it shows in their images!

January 4th, 2012

Everyone is saying it, but wow.  Can you believe it, seriously?  2012 already.

2011 was actually a very good year!  Learned lots, both professionally and personally.  Which is always a continued life long, daily goal of mine, learning to better myself in every way possible.  It’s hard, cuz it’s easy to get caught up in gossip, or putting someone down to feel better about yourself.  But it sure feels good when you overcome it, and grow.

It has been such a whirl wind of happenings!  Last spring was busy finishing gymnastics and hockey with the kids!  Then photography season hit full swing!  July brought me and my one of my bestest photography pals, Justina Gibson, to Victoria for 5 days of learning and shooting and meeting people… and partying pirate style (where i won my iPad 2!!)!  Good times!

Mexico with the family this past fall, which was amazing!  Even though a hurricane, which had been downgraded to a tropical storm had started to hit a day or so before we were to leave!  We still had fabulous weather and made many memories with our children!  Also, just a side note here, we decided to hire a photographer from the resort to take a couple of family shots of us this year for our Christmas card, it went ok, besides the fact that his english wasn’t that great and he wanted us to do that cheesy lay-on-our-bellies stacked on top of one another shots (sorry for those of you who love that shot). :p We bought what we needed to get the images we wanted on disc, only to discover that the disc was blank when we got home.  I tried my recovery software, i tried in all 3 of our computers.  Blank.  It really helped me as a photographer to understand the importance of having someone trust worthy there for a wedding, to know that  your documented memories are safe. Here’s our Christmas card, with the photo we had the print of. I had to take a picture of it…

That being said, i am excited for this year!  I will be shooting another wedding in Mexico in February.  Then at the end of March, my husband and I are going back again with a group of our friends!  And again in November we will be going to 2 weddings of family members that i will be shooting!!

Looking forward to more learning, more growing and meeting more fantastic people!

Speaking of… here is another couple whose wedding I was honored to shoot this past August.  Loved everything about this wedding, no detail left out!  As you can see, i had a hard time narrowing…

My amazing second shooter for this wedding was Paula Karayel, the shots of the guys… all her!!

I want to put a plug in here for C-Bry Rentals. If you are from the northeastern Alberta area and haven’t heard of them, you can thank me later. They are the most fantastic decorating and rental company! Anything you can dream up, they will do it for you! If your not good at dreaming up that stuff, they will blow your mind with what they can come up with! It has been my honor and pleasure to work with Bryanna, Brian and Colleen! Please give them a call for your wedding or next event, tell them i sent you, it might just help!! ;)

LOVE this session, I loved it during and I love the results!  It is the best feeling ever taking romantic shots of couples so obviously in love, knowing they are completely in the moment, reminding themselves of the love and deep connection they share.  Just look for yourselves…

so in love. | .Athabasca wedding photographer

November 30th, 2011

This couple is simply that.  I loved seeing them together, the photos almost took themselves, they made it that easy.

You wouldn’t know it looking at these photos, but the morning started out POURING rain.  Not just a drizzle, but a steady rain.  I was camping and woke up to the sound of the rain on the trailor.  As this was an outside ceremony, I have to say, I was nervous.  The whole drive to Athabasca, which is 45 minutes, it rained.  I met up with my second photographer and we headed out, we had another 15 mins to go.  When we arrived… the sun started to poke out, and although there were puddles and wiping down of chairs for the guests, there wasn’t a drop for the ceremony.  It continued to clear and became a gorgeous, even hot day for these two!

summer promise. | .Northeastern Alberta Wedding Photographer

November 25th, 2011

Such an incredible day, with such an incredible couple!  I’ve said it before, but truly, I am blessed with the best clients, and honored to call them friends!  I feel like I am able to share in such a closeness with the couple, being with them almost every minute of their special day.

Quite the contrast from their engagement session, done back in February, here, their wedding day was a HOT day in July.  Ahhh, nice hot sun. :)

catching up. | .plamondon family photographer

November 5th, 2011

Wow, i am actually quite embarrassed of how long it’s been since i last blogged. I always get so determined and have all these goals, thinking of how organized i am and if i time things right, i should accomplish all sorts of amazing things… then months later, I snap back to reality! I know i say it every year, but fall is insane. I’m sure you are all in the same boat… well, a few of you at least.
I’ve shot a few weddings this summer, went on a photography convention to beautiful Victoria B.C. Did a couple camping trips. Then the kids started back to school, then volleyball, gymnastics, hockey, homework, yep… reality! We took our family vacation back to the Riveria Maya, Mexico for 10 days. We were back just in time to scramble for halloween costumes! It was so worth it all! The excitement on the kids faces, the adventures, the hot sun, beautiful beaches and relaxation… ah, can’t wait to go back next year!
Back to blogging, i am determined to catch up, so this week (hopefully), come back often to check for some new stuff! Goals are good, I’m determined. Stop laughing.
Ok, back to June, where i photographed this amazing, fun and styling family! It was a whole family session, including grandparents and an uncle, but i’m just going to blog this adorable family. This session was a Christmas gift and well worth it. This gift will be cherished forever.
